2018 i was probably writing 70 80 songs uh every year in in the studio with other writers just really learning and creating and and and experimenting and in that time i was working with a few people that ed was working with and i think he heard about me and heard about my stuff through them i also just signed to atlantic records which is also where he was signed
And so, yeah, I think we were sort of crossing paths musically.
And he had heard some of the stuff I'd done and reached out, just wanting to work.
And so I went up to his house and studio in 2020, very early, just before COVID.
And we wrote some songs together that ended up on my debut album, which was so cool.
And yeah, just really got on.
And from there, I signed to his label.
And we have worked together ever since.
This is my third album on Gingerbread Man.
A few years ago, I did make him do a B-reel with me, and that was a lot for him.
I think that's maybe even why he's not been on social media since.
It was too much at once.
Yeah, I scared him off of my B-reel.
No, but you know the thing about Ed is that he is an iPad baby, which is obviously public.
I'm not sharing that.
But his fingers on the pulse.
Sometimes he's telling me things, and I'm like, King, how do you know that?
He has fingers on the pulse, especially musically.
