And again, if they came out and said, well, we use CGI in certain scenes to kind of like blend actual Michael footage with Jafar, I would not be surprised.

That's exactly how and that's not taking nothing away from Jafar thinking that he couldn't do it without that.

But it was so perfect and spot on that it would not surprise me if they leaned on technology a bit in the movie.
