Do you know what that reminds me of most?

Pam Bondi, when about a year ago she went on television and said that she had the Epstein files on her desk and yes, she had a list of other perpetrators who the administration were going to be going after and that they would be published soon.

And that was the start of all of her troubles.

And the reason why she's not attorney general anymore was that she was claiming that there was all sorts of evidence to back up famous MAGA conspiracy theory that just wasn't there.

I wonder if Kash Patel is going to find himself in a similar situation by insisting he's got the evidence that the 2020 election was rigged.

Well, in Donald Trump's terms, yes, what he's done that will be seen as useful is he's sacked a whole lot of FBI agents who were involved in either investigating January the 6th and convicting a whole lot of the protesters who were violent on the 6th of January, all of whom, of course, have since been pardoned and freed by Donald Trump.

Anybody who was involved in investigating Donald Trump himself, for instance, the Jack Smith inquiry, all of that stuff.

that was people just doing as they were told.

They were doing their job as agents, not as politicians or political apparatchiks, simply as they were instructed to do investigating crimes.

and bringing the evidence, a lot of them have left the FBI because Donald Trump didn't want anybody like that involved anymore.

So he gets a gold star for that from the Trump administration.

Obviously, a lot of other people are very worried about the idea that you can sack career FBI agents simply because they were tasked to work on something that was quite political.

And then a new administration came in and didn't like that.
