You know, you hear stuff, and you think, oh, well, she'll be back in tomorrow, or she's gone up the road, or she's... You just don't think that she's gone.

You just presume she'll be back, or she might have got a train to somewhere.

You know, you might just... Nothing.

It was a Monday.

Monday, yeah.

Monday, yeah.

Just people talking, really, that Sandra hadn't been seen or, you know, it was nothing like at that stage, we didn't hear anything from guards or anything like that, you know.

I do remember a bit of activity down at the pier with guards or people were saying the guards were on the pier and they were looking and then there was, said she had left the chipper with a bag of chips and all that started to come out into the equation, you know.

And after that, it was just, she was missing and that was it, yeah.

The coat was found on the pier, her pink fleece.

What they were saying was that the guards and people were down there for, say, the past week previous to that, and that they hadn't found it, you know.

And then there was something about sausages in the pocket that she had bought in Jenny Brand's shop just over here.

That's closed now as well.

And they're saying the sausages were still in the pocket, which would have been quite maybe unusual on the pier where you'd have a lot of little furry friends, you know.

Yeah.

And the guards were going door to door.

They certainly weren't.

They did.

They came in here and they were going around asking questions of different people that lived on the street because this is where she would have been that evening.

You know, she'd have got the sausages in brands and they thought she might have called some lad across the road here again, who I have no visual memory of, even though he only lived across the road.
