And I keep changing my interest areas.
And in 2017, after working in the government and non-government area for many years, I opened my own practice, which was like a really big thing I'd always wanted to do.
Started doing private practice, started doing a lot more therapy and just kind of evolved over the years.
now have an interest you know in post-traumatic stress disorder in trauma recovery and recovery from adverse childhood experiences and all the things that come with that you know whether it's depression anxiety obsessions compulsions substance use eating disorders you know all the bits and pieces that sort of happen as a result of those early experiences and
So, yeah, that's kind of what I'm focused on now and looking at emerging treatments as well, as I guess we'll talk about today, the psychedelic assisted therapy stuff.
But also, you know, there's some really great psychological therapies that are really helpful.
So, yeah, we'll talk about all that.
Yeah, absolutely.
People ask a lot about what the evidence-based practices are.
So that's one thing I think we're going to talk about today.
But for me, it's the practice-based evidence.
So like, what do we see in the room?
How do we track that?
What's the person's experience of that?
What's meaningful for them?
What does change look like for them?
Exactly.
And we know that it's not a one size fits all.
So I think as we get into, you know, what is depression, what is PTSD today, I'll talk more about kind of the scope of how large this is and in some ways how ineffective those labels are in and of themselves.
And we've got to go much deeper to find out kind of like what might be workable for someone.
