Is it possible that the Cubs get back to the top of this division?
Jim Deshaies joining us here on Rahimi Harrison-Grody.
He's the Marquee Sports Network analyst.
He was on the call for last night's loss to the Giants on NBC's Sunday Night Baseball.
Jim, you talk about guys who are expected to produce, having to produce.
We heard last night from Alex Bregman, who took all the accountability for their struggles with runners in scoring position.
No player has left more men on base than him, which you can look at it positively and say, hey, there's always men on base when the Cubs are playing.
but they failed to bring them home.
What do you think should be the approach with Alex Bregman specifically?
I've been an advocate to maybe just move him down in the lineup a little bit to give him a chance to catch his breath because he's going to have positions every day where he can help the Cubs, but he just has come up empty so many times.
We know they've struggled, Jim, with runners in scoring position as a team, the Cubs, and we know that the pitching has been, as you just pointed out, has been kind of a disappointment.
My thing is this.
There's no such thing as a must-win series in June, but this feels like a must-offense series in June.
You're going up against the Colorado Rockies in Colorado, as you pointed out.
The Rockies have not only the worst home ERA in baseball, but just the worst ERA in baseball as a team.
How disappointing will it be if they can't get something going over the next three days?
There's a big guy.
His name is Victor Wiminyama.
That's the guy you need to have your eyes on.
And there's a little guy named Jalen Brunson.
