If you think about it, if your identity is really just a story, it's probably a good story because you've held on to it for a long time.
So the only way you're actually going to sustainably replace that original story is if you have an equally good or better story to tell yourself.

It's interesting that like ultimately impacting others might be a stronger lever for changing yourself than trying to impact yourself.
I would agree with that wholeheartedly.
