Now, the Northern Territory Government...
has recently released their budget and they've confirmed that they have budget for three more games in the next deal.
So that's two in Darwin, one in Alice Springs.
Melbourne has so far shown no want to get out of Alice Springs.
They've given no indication that they want to leave Alice Springs.
Gold Coast want to go from two down to one in Darwin because they travel 14 times out of 23 games, if you include the games in Darwin and Gather Round and all that.
So
You can understand that from the Suns, even though they do make a fair bit of money from it.
So what the AFL is trying to determine now is who gets this extra game in Darwin.
If it's not going to be Gold Coast, and if Melbourne don't want to increase from one to two, who gets that extra game?
But one of the more interesting things I found out about the Northern Territory football
in my research, is that of all the states and territories, they have the highest percentage of girls and women playing.
40% of the participants playing in Northern Territory are girls and women, which is why the Dreamtime game in the AFLW has been moved to Darwin now in this upcoming season.
It's one to watch.
I think Melbourne will assess it, but the fact they haven't told the AFL anything yet just tells you the status quo is the most likely scenario.
But they play so well at the MCG, don't they?
They do.
So this is where the front office versus the back office, that's where they make the decisions.
Can't have the Tarps coming out again, Cornsy.
Can't have the Tarps at Port Adelaide.
