Now, this first message came through to our WhatsApp number earlier this week, and it's great.
After listening to a show where we spoke about mushrooms that become hallucinogenic if you don't cook them long enough, an anonymous listener says...
There was a mix of about 12 different varieties of hallucinogenic mushroom and we had six of them in our meal.
They were delicious, but it is a bit disconcerting when the waiter holds the spoons and chopsticks until the 20 minutes of cooking time is up, then keeps a sample of the broth with my phone number attached.
So our listener has sent us a picture of the menu and it's a picture of different kinds of mushrooms.
And there's a bunch of skulls next to each picture, which I find disconcerting.
So, yes, Phyllis, Tristan, either of you tempted to eat mushrooms with skull pictures next to them?
I mean, honestly, no.
Also, I'm not a huge mushroom fan anyway.
So, you know, the potential for death at lunch is not necessarily like my deal.
Yeah, but then you get that massive buzz of I ate lunch and I didn't die.
And how good is the world looking?
Yeah, as Tristan says, he's not a fan.
I'm also not a fan.
But this is because of even how I grew up.
You know, well, growing up, we were told that certain mushrooms grew where spirits walked.
We were told that lightning had touched these mushrooms, so do not approach them, just let them be.
So I've grown up not being a fan of mushrooms.
So in fact, now when I see a skull drawn, no, I wouldn't touch that.
