You had to keep going for the boys, for Dara and Cailin.
And what's the option?
It's very difficult, but you either sink or swim.
And my motto would be, you swim, you have to keep going because the other alternative is not good.
And that's what we did gradually, bit by bit.
It was very difficult and it took years and that, but now life is good again.
We laugh, we live our life, we remember there and what fun it is and we still shed tears and all of that, but you go on, you learn to go on and for his to live, for the wee boy that he was and how happy he was and how full of life he was and you just live your life in his memory or for him.
or as he would have lived his life, full of fun and laughter and happiness.
My pleasure, Susan.
Yeah, because they provided a magical weekend for us.
It was just... And there was no stone left unturned.
Everything was taken into account that...
He would get tired very easily, so there was an activity in the morning and rest in the afternoon.
Down to his birthday, he celebrated his birthday on the 30th of April, and there was a banquet in his honour, and he actually shared his birthday with my mum.
So there was a cake made, created, off the castle that just told a story that he was a knight, and there was a moat all made from icing, and Bonnie the dog was swimming in the moat.
So there was nothing left unturned, and that has left us... You know, you look at the photographs in the kitchen, the video goes on, and it just brings back that wonderful feeling of the amazing weekend we had.
And the fact also, which was huge for us, because he was so unwell that the wish was granted at home, we didn't need to travel out of Ireland, we didn't need to leave Donegal, we were 20 minutes from the hospital.
So that added to, I think...
the peace or, you know, he didn't have to worry about if he has to be rushed somewhere or if he's in a strange hospital and all of this.
So that added, that made a huge difference for us, the fact that his wish was granted at home.
