How big is this city supposed to be?

Oh, good question.

Yeah.

This is a city the size of Oakland.

It is pitched to have a population of 400,000 people.

They've kind of increased that over time to maybe as much as 500,000 people.

And also to put it in perspective, the current population of Solano County is 400,000 people.

They're going to double the amount of people that live in this entire county concentrated within the building of this new city.

It all sort of kicked off 2017 with a Fox News report.

Yes.

So what happened is back when this was all secret, all these plans, he had the team put together, but no public record of anything resembling California forever.

So in 2017, people in Solano County who were looking to sell their land start getting offers from this mysterious company called Flannery Associates.

There's this Fox News report on it at the time.

All right, this story just got interesting.

They're spending ridiculous amounts of money to buy farmland, significantly more money than they necessarily would need to.

That's a strange way to start your city building project.

Exactly.

So the kind of modus operandi of the company here, Flannery Associates, by the way, is just a subsidiary of California Forever.

Okay.
