Cards are boring.
They're little rectangles.
But there's the gameplay underneath the cards.
That's what the game is.
And I think there's just a distraction that the cards give.
Like you could make card games that appeal to people that aren't cards.
They hide the cards.
And one of the things we just criticized about Saros was sort of that
you didn't feel... In terms of the roguelike elements, you didn't really feel in Sauros like the things that you're picking up are creating a sort of unique dynamic in your build in any particular run.
Like the weapon that you have is the thing that differentiates your run more so than the modifiers that you pick up.
But in Vampire Crawlers...
The biggest satisfaction to me is how different runs can feel based on the things that you pick up and the way that you customize your build during a run and make changes to that on the fly to adapt to things.
That dynamic change of feel in each run is really satisfying.

I haven't gotten a chance to play this yet, but I will say that it seems to me that in the modern landscape of fighting games, if this is even somewhat competent as a fighting game, which it appears to be, I think there's a good chance you could see some real competitive scene form around it, because I don't think everyone is...
everyone in the fighting game community is kind of starved for the next big thing.
The cadence of big fighting game releases has slowed greatly in the past decade.
People aren't
super hyped about the latest Fatal Fury game.
