It's not quite a Hollow Knight, Silksong level of difficulty.
But the boss fights do require you to learn the moves of the bosses and figure out how to avoid those attacks.
I think there's a good level of customization in here.
And there are a few things about it that are...
There's occasionally some runbacks in there, which feels insane after playing through Silksong.
Nothing as egregious as in Silksong, obviously, but there are some nice little details to it, like the fact that you don't take damage from a boss by touching it, I think is just really fair.
Most of my response to this game is just a trauma response to Silksong.
I don't know if you've noticed that already.
It's got a beautiful art style.
The music is incredible.
I'm really enjoying it.
I'm taking my time with it.
I think I'm about 14 hours into it.
And I do intend to keep playing it as a fan of Metroidvanias.
I think it's a recommend to people who enjoy the genre.
It might be a pass for people who don't typically enjoy that kind of thing.
So it's just a crowded space.
It is.
And I don't know yet if I would recommend this more or less than last year's Endermagnolia, Bloom in the Mist, which is another post-apocalyptic metroidvania that I really loved from last year that I think is underrated.
And there's a lot of strange parallels between the two.
