So you get these weird inflations of size that don't actually make sense. And then I think we see the same thing with with Wendigos. You know, Wendigos are described as giants. But then when you look at it, on the one hand, they say these guys are 10 to 12 feet tall. But then they talk about them as being six feet tall, human size.

They're I mean, a group of braves is able to go and chop one's knees off without much trouble with stone weapons. That doesn't sound like something that's 20 feet tall. That sounds like something that's kind of been magnified for some reason in the minds of the people telling the story. And then you look at you'll get the Kandahar one. And that just seems like a creepypasta.

Every single response we got from people who were actually in Afghanistan at the time was that the story was either a joke or a complete hoax. And... When you look at the background for it, it kind of feels like it has to be. Because... Nobody manages to keep the story straight and everything about it sounds more like Hollywood. I mean, I... You know what killed me with the Kandahar Giant one?

The thing that made it certain to me that that was a BS story. What's that? It was the guy who said he was on the mission and that a Green Beret broke cover to charge a Giant with his M4.

There was that too. Somebody did tell me that they had heard both Chinooks and Pavelo's referred to as Jolly Green Giants. My understanding is that the term was used in the Vietnam War for whatever the precursor to the Chinook was. But so far as I can tell, it does not apply to the modern Chinook. But maybe it does. So that one definitely threw me for a loop as well.

The idea of them having multiple .50 caliber weapons, though. .50 Beowulf, maybe. But if you're in a mission where you're not expecting to encounter... I, you know, long sight lines or vehicles. I find it hard to believe the group of Green Berets would be carrying multiple .50 caliber weapons.

That's the other thing. The way he talked about the guns didn't work for me. It didn't sound like a Green Beret talking about their weapons. It sounded like somebody who watched Battle Los Angeles talking about weapons. But it really was the guy charging. But that's what I'm saying is with each of these stories, you kind of get something where it's, oh, OK, this doesn't make a ton of sense.

You know, there's something in here that that is a clue that something in here is not the truth. I think with with the Kandahar giant story, it's the guy breaking cover with an M4. It's the way they talk about the weapons. with the Patagonian giant story. It is the, uh, the fact that normal size men were able to restrain 10 or 12 foot tall giants with their hands and tie ropes around them.

And the fact that the human size monocles fit them and that they were able to put like normal person size clothes on. If you look at, uh, at the CTA car, There's nothing quite as blatant about it. They're just not described as giants by the Native Americans.

That is a purely modern invention of the story that's probably based on the fact that there was a six foot six inch tall skeleton found in that cave, allegedly, which I don't believe is actually in the archaeological report. If I remember correctly, the tall skeleton was reported by Pew and Hart or potentially even just people covering the story later on. But what really does it for me
