And that's when my buddy called me, said, hey, you need to go to the newsstand, grab the Rolling Stone.
And literally, I opened it up, and there is his face on a $100 bill.
And it's like, whoa, the king of counterfeit.
And it really talked about it from a Robin Hood standpoint, and it literally said, I didn't say anything to the Secret Service agent when they arrested me in Chicago, so on and so forth.
But he really talked about how he had turned his life around, and now he's not engaging in this, and now he's actually kind of, almost catch me if you can, kind of working with the banks on how to stop this type of stuff, so on and so forth.
But counterfeiters have some of the highest recidivism rates in the world.
It's unbelievable.
and you know especially the the old school counterfeiters which i think art was is that he was trying to blend both styles the old school folks it is a passion for them truly is and knowing that about him when we see this article we're like i know this guy's gonna get back at it he says clean and this and the other so we go back to the office and i know i was with another agent i don't know if he wants his last name on you know out there but his name's eric
And this other agent, we start looking at all the notes that are coming in and it's almost two out of every three are the exact same style.
And we're like, he's back at it.
Right.
Right.
So we set up surveillance and we start watching his house and we're seeing some activity.
We start doing some buys.
Some people start getting picked up with his notes and all roads start leading back to art.
And finally we get an arrest warrant and he goes on the run and it's,
10 or 12 days we're trying to find him.
And we're sitting on his house, not me, our counter surveillance team.
And you see Art's son, Art III, who's an aspiring rapper, okay, a 15-year-old aspiring rapper on the south side of Chicago, Bridgeport area.
He comes out of the house.
