To start with, we thought, everyone knows about counter editions.
Do we really want to get editions by well-known artists?
They're just very well-known at the point.
What can we do that's a bit different?
And so he sourced artworks actually on eBay from the early 20th century of artists
artists who were not famous, but were next to famous people.
So they were sort of part of the Snives group or places like that.
They were kind of known artists, but really great artworks.
And literally, I don't think he paid more than 500 pounds for any of the works.
And they're really nice original paintings and drawings in the rooms.
Then we thought about the ground floor and the basement.
We thought, well, there are great artists in Margate.
Of course, we should involve them.
So the public spaces, the bar and the restaurant have artworks by local artists, but they're very famous local artists.
