And I just began to think, OK, Margate's now the second city for art in the UK.
And so we knew something was building there.
And I was literally just walking past this hotel with Tom.
Well, it had been a hotel since 1820, but it had been disused for 50 years and was crumbling.
I mean, you couldn't even go inside.
And I was like, that's an amazing building.
It's right next to Turner Contemporary.
And then two weeks later, he called me and said, that building is up for auction for a ridiculously low price.
And Gabriel had been involved with Tracy.
He'd done Tracy's studio.
And I saw him a couple of days later and I said, oh, how's things in Margate?
Because he goes there a lot.
He said, yeah, there's this hotel up for sale.
I said, yeah, I know.
We're thinking about bidding on it.
He said, I was going to bid on it too.
Let's do it together.
So we ended up doing it together, becoming business partners.
