Wait, is this back catalog?
For example, I don't want to use the artist's name, but an artist that we all love that maybe lived near Damaris at one point in their entire life.
he got into a problem with Even, and Even ended up getting sued because that artist owed another label a project, and he put that project out on Even without permission to do so.
So Even has ran into a lot of different lawsuits.
Some you can research on your own, I'm not gonna get into it, but most of them have been catalog-based or artists trying to utilize Even when they're already in a deal with somebody else.
So you're technically selling...
Music that a major or whatever independent label you have is entitled to but you're putting it over here on even yeah, it's like it's Similar if we have something with Netflix and put it on patreon like it's that same thing.
When you partner with UMG, I assume even would probably prefer that, because now I'm not gonna have as many lawsuits and I have a partner with more artists that would be seamless in trying to get music out.
If we're all friends here, then we can all utilize this platform the best way we can.
with artists labels when they're trying to put shit on your platform.
So it's a smart business move on, on even.
And, and that's a, that's another thing kind of full circle to the Russell thing.
I saw a lot of artists mad with even like evens supposed to be fighting your independent fight.
Everyone is in this business to make money as well.
And I don't think even for the good of the culture wants to get sued every day and not be able to grow their company and also make money.
So I hear y'all, but not everything is revolutionary.
