Well, obviously, it'll depend on the screw-up, obviously.
But at the same time, there's a process within the private sector, you know, whether it be verbal warnings,
written warnings, probationary periods, anything like that.
But, you know, what I mean is you have a probationary period when you start work.
But if your work isn't up to standard, you might be put back on a probationary period.
That doesn't happen in the public sector.
And you know it as good as I do, Ciarán, because you've spoken about the health service, you've spoken about OPW, you've spoken about everything that there's absolutely no accountability because it's not those people's money that's been wasted, it's the public's money.
And it's the exact same within government.
Why should we care about overspending on this, that, or the other?
Like, look back on over the years, all the public relations money that the RT has wasted, hosting dinners, hosting golf events, taking people to matches.
I mean, why would they care when that's not their money?
That's money that's been put into us, and as usual, at the end of every fiscal year, same as the HSE, they go back to the government with the begging bowl saying that we need more money.
I think it's more along the lines of,
they came and they admitted it before it actually came out itself and I can bet you I can bet you 100 euros right now that we'd be back in the same position
if not next year, the year after, when they'll be hit with another scandal.
Like I said, it's just endemic in semi-state and state bodies all the time.
We just bounce from scandal to scandal.
