Senna kertoi myöhemmin, kuinka vaikeat kohdat olivat.
Chris Dinnage puhui Guy KiltystÀ ja muistaa Ayrton Sennaan ensimmÀisen Grand Prix-menetelmÀn. Viimeiseksi meillÀ on toinen meidÀn kulttuurillamme aikana, mutta tÀmÀ on erittÀin liittyvÀ politiikkaan ja religioon. TÀhÀn menemme Afganistanin alkuperÀisistÀ 2000-luvulta, jossa aloitetaan kontroversiaalinen, mutta todella populari, televisiokirja, kuten Tim O'Callaghan kertoo.
Jahid Mosseini oli Afganstarin kehittÀmisprodusseja. HÀn on nyt Mobi-media-ryhmÀn pÀÀosanjohtaja. HÀn puhui Timo Callaghanista. Ja se on kaikki tÀstÀ esityksestÀ Historia-huoneesta. Katsokaa meidÀn kanavamme, jos pystytte. SiinÀ on mahtavaa ympÀristöÀ aiemmista tarinoista. Katsokaa vain bbc.com. Ja me ollaan takaisin lisÀÀ ensi viikossa. Joten ennen kuin sitten, tÀmÀ on Max Pearson. Kaikki meitÀ tÀÀllÀ. Kiitos kuuntelusta. Hei.
We had a designer. He brought in a fully storyboarded idea about how the queen would arrive by jumping out of a helicopter. And we all said, that's brilliant, but it's never gonna happen.
Hello and welcome to the History Hour from the BBC World Service with me, Max Pearson. This week's people and events as featured on Witness History, the past brought to life by those who were there. Coming up, it's 110 years since the horrors of the Battle of Gallipoli. I was on the beach the first time I was really under fire. And it was just like a shower of rain coming into the sea. Also, we remember the disaster at the Hillsborough football stadium.
Plus the artist Dame Tracey Emin on her famous bed, and from Japan the origins of the world's longest running animated TV show.
I never imagined it would run this long. Mr. Matsumoto, the first producer, was the only person who was fired up about it. It has gone on not only for 10 years, but 55 years. That's all coming up later, but first a moment from the past which cemented in the global consciousness a very particular style of Latin American literature. In 1982 Isabel Allende published her debut novel The House of the Spirits.
Ben Henderson on kertonut tÀmÀn tarinan, aloittamassa Santiagoin Chilis-kapitalissa 1940-luvulla. Minun isÀni ja kolme muuta naisia, he olisivat ylöspÀin tÀstÀ todella vahvasta jÀsenpÀivÀstÀ ja kutsuivat itseÀnsÀ.
He kokeilivat myös telepatiikkaa ja yrittÀivÀt muuttaa asioita, eikÀ niitÀ kohtaa. Telepatiikka oli hauskaa, koska Morla-sistereet elivÀt toisella puolella kaupungista, ja he lÀhettivÀt yhdessÀ ruokakÀytÀntöjÀ telepatiikkaan. Ne eivÀt koskaan toimineet. Ei, koska telepatiikka ei toimineet, vaan koska he olivat huonoja kukkia.
But the legend is that my grandmother was magical. She instilled that in me, that there are many dimensions of reality, that the dead and the living walk side by side.
My grandmother died very soon and it became a house of mourning. My grandfather dressed in black from head to toe. He painted some of the furniture black. And there were no flowers, no music, no radio, no parties, no desserts. It was a sad place. But he was a very good storyteller. Spooky anecdotes about ghosts, that kind of stuff.
Mutta maa oli erittÀin yksilöitÀ. Silloin, 11. septembrilta 1973, kaikki muuttui.
What is what? A military coup? And so I went to a friend's house, whose husband was a teacher, in downtown Santiago. So I said, I'm going to pick him up. And then when I got to the school, he was in one of the classrooms, and he was crying. And he was listening to the radio, to the last words of Salvador Allende. Viva Chile.
After some months of this, I realized that if any of those people would have been arrested and tortured, they would have had to say where they had been hiding. And I would be targeted. Then I found out I was in a list. So I lived in terror. I got a rash all over my body. I couldn't sleep. And so I left for Venezuela.
We received the news that my grandfather was dying in Chile, and I started a letter for him. The idea was to tell my grandfather that I remembered everything, that I remembered everything he had told me, his life, and that would not be forgotten.
So it started with the first anecdote that I ever heard, which was the story of my great aunt Rosa, who was my grandfather's fiancé. And she died mysteriously right before the marriage. Apparently she was poisoned. We don't know if by accident or it was a crime. But they said that she was beautiful as a mermaid. And her photograph was always on the piano at home. So I started with the story of Rosa.
What began as a letter grew into a much bigger story. I worked in a school two shifts, 12 hours a day. So I would have the story evolving in my head all day.
