And so she remoted in to talk to us from her hot, hot desert home in St.
George.
Let's bring her on now.
Ashley, thanks for coming on the show.
I'm excited to be here.
Thank you for having me.
I'm so psyched you're here.
Okay, so first of all, for listeners who don't know what Badwater 135 is, please lay it out for us.
Explain what this thing is.
Badwater, it is considered, they say, the world's toughest foot race.
I don't know who gave it that, but we're going to go with that because it sounds really great, right?
So this is located in Death Valley in California, one of the world's hottest places in the world.
So we do this race in July.
On purpose, because that's the hottest time of the year, and the temperatures range between 120 to 135 degrees.
You're running all on asphalt from the lowest point of California, which is negative 200 feet, which sounds great, right?
Yeah.
And then we run up to Whitney Portal.
So over the 135 miles through the 120-some-odd degree temperatures, you are...
climbing over 15,000 feet through all of whatever the desert's going to throw at you.
So it's always a mystery.
