And when you write out that vision, it actually can be a little bit emotional.
And that's the comments that I've gotten on that particular exercise.
It feels a bit frightening to put that kind of thing down on paper.
And I don't have any research to back this at all, but I find that
having something that you want to avoid can be a bigger driver than having something that you want to move towards.
And I think that is the nature of the human brain.
We tend to want to avoid pain rather than seek out pleasure.
And when you have this clear idea of exactly what you do not want your life to look like, your brain almost goes into, Oh God, we need to avoid that mode.
And you'll start finding yourself maybe subconsciously, maybe actively thinking of things that you can do to make sure that that vision doesn't come to life.
And you can accompany that vision with little steps that you can take as well to avoid that vision from coming to life.
And you'll find yourself taking action on those steps with a bit more ease since you've got this mental picture of what you do want to avoid.
Yes.
And if you don't, a lot of people are like a vision that's overwhelming.
Like, yes, I don't know what I want my life to look like.
I maybe they don't even have a clear idea of what goals they want to set.
Doing an anti-vision can really drive those goals as well, because when you figure out what you don't want, it gets really it makes it really clear what you should work towards.
