There's no doubt about it.

So he'd done that.

And then came and jumped in the rough.

And everybody started putting pressure on me to get the line off, get the line off.

And we looked around.

I said, no, we're missing one bloke.

The chief mate, he's not here.

So everybody else was there.

We had nine on board and one missing.

And pressure was coming on me to cut that line and let's get out of the way.

I wouldn't do it.

I kept trying to get the line off because I couldn't leave without knowing where the 10th man was, the chief mate.

So he was in his cabin and his cabin was locked in there by the weight of the water in the vessel.

So he couldn't open the door to get out.

He was in big strife.

But what he did, he was smart enough to wait till the water equalised with the water inside the cabin and the water outside of the cabin.

And he was able to open the door, pop up through the accommodation.

And when his head surfaced, I started doing a little bit more effort to get that line off so we could all go and get away from the ship.

So he'd come over closer to where the life raft was.

We all pulled him in.
