He says, I'm absolutely gutted.
When he asked me last year to see the Millwall badge on the inside of my uniform, for him to know about the badge and recognise me was humbling.
He had time to come and speak to me and make me feel part of the Millwall community even more than I thought I already was.
We will remember him.
And I think that is what...
what, you know, John was all about.
John was just, I don't think there is anyone who he wouldn't speak to.
Um, he, he, he had time for everyone from, you know, small kids to, to grow men, you know, wanting to shake his hand, um, wanting a selfie.
He, he just, he, he, nothing, nothing at all was ever too much, um,
you know he was never um he was never fearful for walking around the den it felt to him like home and i think that someone else of his stature and you know let's be honest he he was a wealthy man he's you know he's um he he's used to
high living and everything else with obviously where he comes from and the communities and that what he's around.
But he was just, he wouldn't care.
He would walk around the Millwall fan base.
He would walk around without, you know, where some people would probably be walking around with half a dozen bodyguards and all that.
He didn't.
His bodyguard was normally either, you know, it would be Billy Taylor or maybe it would be, maybe it would be
you know, Steve Kavanagh, whatever that, that was his, they were his bodyguards.
So because he just didn't need them, he felt so at home with our fan base and, you know, connected, even though he's from, but it just, to me, that just shows the Millwall fan base as a whole.
We don't care who you are.
We don't care whether or not you've got a penny in your pocket or you've got bundles of money in your pocket.
