In today's Back of the Brief, well, it's not a story that you hear every day.
A Russian warship reportedly fired warning shots near a British civilian vessel in an encounter that London has not witnessed in more than 100 years.
The incident unfolded Tuesday in the English Channel, and as one might imagine, as one does, it drew the attention of British authorities.
While no injuries or damage were reported, the encounter was serious enough to trigger an investigation by the UK Defense Ministry.
According to Russia's defense ministry, the encounter involved a frigate Admiral Gagorovich and a British-registered yacht named Bright Future.
Russian defense officials claim the yacht was, quote, proceeding under engine power on a dangerous collision course toward the warship.
Now, that might sound relatively straightforward.
