The bolt catch was too high to actually work with the bolt that came with the FM9.
So I filed it down some.
And then much, much later, the bolt catch, which is attached to the last round bolt hole open switch for the Glock mags, you push the button and it's connected through a bar.
It goes up through the front in front of the magazine well, and there's a little hooky.
and the little hooky gets pressed by your empty magazine, and that's what locks your bolt open.
Well, because I filed the bolt catch down, it wasn't engaging on the new JP Enterprises bolt that I put in there.
And then I tried to mess with it and ended up breaking the whole thing.
So, yeah.
I have had to do that in competitions because the bolt hold open was not working.
Some of the higher round count stages, the max a USPSA stage can be is 32 rounds.
And currently my stick mags can do 36.
So if I have to make up a few extra shots, then I'm at risk of running out of rounds for the entire stage.
At which point, like, I don't think about this.
And I probably, or at least I didn't.
I haven't shot it in a match in years, but...
