The trouble is legitimate.

Like we all, and by we, I mean, Red Sox fans talked ourselves into being legitimate contenders this year in the off season.

They signed Sonny Gray.

They signed a Oviado who seemed like he would be good.

He's now got a flexor tendon strain and maybe is, you know, in trouble.

Um,

They made a bunch of moves that were like to shore up the parts of the team, the wildcard team last year that, you know, seemed like they were on the ready to on the verge of breaking out.

And then you get to the actual season and you're like, oh, they might suck.

Like that.

So they had Bregman there last year and he played really well.

He was hurt for a while, but he played really well.

And then this year they just didn't sign him.

He signed with the Cubs and they replaced him with Caleb Durbin.

And you know that thing where like you see on the internet sometimes where like a guy starts with a paperclip and he makes trades and eventually he ends up with a car?

They basically did that in reverse.

They started with a car and kept making trades and ended up with a paperclip.

And Durbin has like 6% bat speed and like never hits the ball hard.
