From what I was told by a six-year-old boy, and I swore to him in the back of the ambulance that day, I'd never tell another living soul, but I'm going to tell you.

This is your son you're referring to?

Yeah, this is my son.

He said he set the couch on fire, playing with a lighter at the end of it, which probably in turn set the curtains on fire, set the wall on fire that burnt the house down, that killed his mother.

So now you're blaming your son?

No, I'm not blaming my son.

I'm telling you what my son told me when he was six years old in the back of an ambulance.

Why not believe me?

I can understand that, too.

Probably did a couple of times.

I swore to him that I'd never tell nobody else.

And he's my son, and I'll protect him to my last dying breath.

So the truth can be known.

I know he has.

So basically what you're telling me, I should have said this from the start.

I should have told somebody.

I know it feels unfair.
