So you get like this, this very cold, sterile, like report of incident that tells you your brother's dead.
Yeah.
And they even got the location wrong.
You know, it's like.
Sounds like the military.

It was like they didn't even do that part.
Right.
But you can't really ask questions.
But, you know, it is military tradition that someone escorts the fallen home.
And so one of his best friends escorted him home.
His name is Jesse.
And we found out in the days following, because Jesse was here, some more of the details of what had happened.
And in the years since, we've learned a much fuller picture.
And some of these things I didn't know until a few years ago, which is wild.
But we would later find out that he was leading a convoy in his Humvee
from Mosul to Fallujah, which was like the most dangerous place in the world in 2003, like unequivocally, so.
Yeah, that's right.
Yeah, that's supposed to be the gnarliest place you could go.
Yeah, and you're talking about like a few months into US forces being on the ground.
