And the first thing Abram did was
go to Melchizedek.
This is Genesis 14, verse 18 through 20.
And Melchizedek, king of Salem, bought our bread and wine.
He was the priest of God's most high and he blessed him and said, blessed be Abraham, my bad, by God most high, possessor of heaven and earth and blessed be God most high,
who has delivered your enemies into your hand.
And Abram gave him a tenth of everything.
I know we fight about this tithe.
This was 430 years before the law.
Abram was tithing to Melchizedek.
430 years before the law was established what he's doing is conditioning the hearts of his people he is more concerned about us being generous giving back to God for the victory that's what Abram was doing he was celebrating a victory God has delivered him from from saving his nephew it was still generosity

The purpose of tithing, giving 10% of one's income as a spiritual discipline is to kind of motivate us to get us to the place of a free will giving.
Like, I don't know where to start.
To put God first.
So God gives me a check.
I'm thinking to put God first.
I'm going to start here.
And if you don't have it, it's okay.
Because he's trying to cultivate generosity.
