He's saying, you're going to love one or the other.

And that's why he's trying to break the grip off of us on this money thing.

that we will be generous because when we open our hands, he can do exceedingly, abundantly, all that we can ever ask or think through this hand that's open.

And if we keep staying like that, ultimately we'll start totally despising, giving in any form, any shape, any manner.

Let's go to Matthew 19.

This is the result of holding on so tightly to what's in your hand.

Matthew 19, verse 16 to 22.

We've heard this before.

And behold, a man came up to him saying, teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?

And he said to him, why do you ask me about what is good?

There is only one who is good.

If you would enter life, keep the commandments.

He said to him, which ones?

And Jesus said, you shall not murder.

You should not commit adultery.

You should not steal.

You should not bear false witness.

Honor your father and mother.
