If you find out something unacceptable to yourself about someone that you really like and have got to know well, what do you do?
I mean, I didn't quite have that moral dilemma.
I mean, I'd been, if anything, more a left-wing supporter and certainly Tony had been, being a conscientious objector to the Vietnam War.
And here I am, best friends with this ultra right-wing terrorist.
In 1971, there was another situation, another war that created a lot of refugees, and that was the Bangladeshi Liberation War.
And so what Jean decided to do was hijack a plane to get medical supplies for those 10 million refugees that were marching towards the border.
Where was the plane that he hijacked?
The plane was in Orly, which is one of Paris' airports.
Jean deliberately boarded his plane, which is a Pakistani airline's plane.
Pakistan was the enemy, late.
And some of the security had already been folded up.
And they just did a search of his bag.
And all they found in the bag was a Bible and an electric razor and a few other things.
He didn't go through a metal detector at that point, so they didn't find the gun that he had nestled into his waistband.
How did the hijacking proceed?
What happened?
Well, he waited till the... He went to his seat, he counted the number of passengers, the number of crew, so he knew what he had to deal with.
He waited till the doors were shut and the plane just began to taxi and then he stood up in the first-class section, he went to first class...
and said, presumably, this is a hijack, showed his gun.
He kept his bag with him.
