He had two wires from the electric shaver.
He'd manoeuvred them out, and so it looked like he was keeping them apart.
Should they touch, the bomb would go off.
It wasn't really a bomb, but that's what the message was.
And...
In the cockpit, he was trying to tell the pilot and co-pilot in there that it was a hijacking.
And his accent in English was so heavy, they couldn't understand what he was saying.
It's like a Mr. B moment.
It just could have descended into a Woody Allen movie.
Yeah.
So then he called for the French speaker, if there were any French speakers on the plane, and a Swiss man, a friendly Swiss man, came forward and acted as the interpreter.
And what was he demanding?
He was demanding several tonnes of anticholera and other medication in exchange for the passengers' and crews' lives.
How did this hijacking end then?
Well, I think they were on the tarmac for about seven hours.
He kept them there.
And one load of medication arrived and the whole thing was so slow and eventually, dressed in airport workers' uniforms, the cops came on board and overcame him, pummeled him to the ground.
The gun went off.
He lightly grazed one of the policemen.
He was on remand in jail for about eight months till...
