It's not their fault.
It's not our fault that we were treated like that.
I mean, what you do with it next is your choice.
There's only two of us that have really processed this and worked through this, to be fair.
The rest of them still think it's love.
And so they respect me and I love them.
What that means for me, though, is I don't take my kids in places in which I don't feel they're going to be the safest.
With my mom, you know, I'm so proud of my mom.
I am really proud of her.
Because when I first started working through this, I'd call her and go, hey, you know what happened to me as a kid?
That was pretty fucked up, hey?
Yeah.
And she would be like, you don't know what you're talking about.
What happened to you was normal.
Get over it, right?
Let me finish on my mom.
Don't judge her because she's an incredible woman that literally what she did saved our lives.
The thing I love about my mom and the thing that gives me hope about the generation that were raised in her generation is that you can unlearn those things.
You can relearn a new way of living.
And like, I'll have chats of my mom's deep chats now.
