So when I'm making oatmeal for my kids, they're not getting it every single day, but I can see it as a therapeutic food. I'm adding in some almond milk. I'm putting in probably a tablespoon or two of organic ghee, which is clarified butter, which has butyric acid, which is really great for our gut health. I'm cooking it slowly. And then I'm letting the oats cool a little bit.

So for my kids, I might cook the oatmeal with dates. So I chop off one or two dates, which are loaded with fiber again. And then I might sprinkle some nuts and seeds on top of it.

I might be adding in some berries, like wild blueberries also, additional fiber and antioxidants. There's no way a meal like that is going to be unhealthy for you.

I'm adding almond butter in it. Sometimes my son loves that. But I'm not dousing it with brown sugar and sugared berries. And they're not having heaping bowls of it at all, right? So look for the quality of oats. Be mindful of how you're cooking them and what you're cooking them with. And just be mindful to include some good quality fats.

And what's a solution for any type of food that tends to spike our glucose? Walk. Yeah. Go for a 15 or 20 minute walk after your meals, whether it's oatmeal or any meal for that matter. One of the rituals in my house is every night after dinner, before we put the dishes away as a family, clean up as a family, we all go out for a 15 or 20 minute walk. What is this going to do?
