Yeah, no, I mean, I think when we've survived through difficult things, I think there's part of being able to survive and part of the survival, right, is how do we tell the story of ourselves to ourself?
That's really beautiful.
And so I think that's, in a way, kind of what you're talking about is that these pieces that might have been reflective of so much pain and are still reflective of that, right?
also served to make you who you are today.
And you see the positives.
Alan Cumming was actually my very first guest.
He's been a good friend for now 26 years.
He seems like the best person I've met.
He's just the yummiest.
But it's interesting because he was talking a lot about the abuse, physical abuse and emotional abuse that he suffered at the hands of his father and that he and his brother and his mom.
And so โ and he was saying how โ
In coming out and telling his story in his memoir, that it unlocks something for both his mom and his brother, too, you know, in that way of โ that there is โ because it's a different kind of, you know โ
Bringing something to light.
It's one thing to bring something to light in a circle of your peers or your society or your community.
And it's another to do it to strangers.
I mean, this is where I feel like social media is such a wonderful tool.
