quite as isolated by technology.
I found that so interesting too.
That's a really interesting idea.
And she kind of says in it that Gen X has a lot to thank Gen Y and Z for, for the way they've shifted sexual culture, that now a Gen X woman who's suddenly in an exploratory phase because maybe she's just come out of a long relationship or whatever, is kind of like coming out of a cage into a new world.
And I guess the people who are in that new world who feel the way that she does and don't still have all the hangups from before, maybe they're younger.
I have to raise one slight wrinkle in this, like a literal wrinkle, is that all of this extreme enthusiasm for Gen X women to reclaim their sexual selves can feel a bit exhausting for some Gen X women who don't want to reclaim their sexual selves.
When I've been hosting, as part of my job hosting Mid, I asked the audience once for this, tell me how you're feeling about sex.
And overwhelmingly, most of them said that they had a lot of sadness about sex, either they'd completely lost interest because of hormonal situations or because of their marital status or whatever, and that they felt a lot of pressure to have to reboot again.
I think whatever you're going through, it's okay.
Like it sounds like such a vanilla thing to say, but it's true.
And in a way, some of this is a bit like, well, what's wrong with you?
Why aren't you having the best sex of your life?
And you're kind of like, well, I'm trying to deal with my teenage kids and my elderly parents and my hormones and my this and my that.
And now I've also got to be having the best sex of my life can sometimes feel like an extra job.
