It took me four years after coming out of Afghanistan to just talk to the guy who saved my life.
We're at the same team.
We see each other in the halls.
We didn't talk.
But eventually when I sort of came around to maybe the death positive side of things, I was like, I need to look at this.
I looked at it as like a tremendous gift.
And it wasn't that like, now I have a second chance.
Definitely that.

You just live.

I was in the final stages.
I was told I was maybe 30 seconds from death.
You are ready to die.
You just don't know it.
And for me, I was.
I was very badly injured.
I didn't feel anything.
