That's actually why I asked about the power pose and gearing yourself up, because I think so often women undervalue their skills and undersell themselves.
And so I sort of thought if you go into it already feeling like,
hey, I'm after this level of money, but it's okay if not.
You know, you're already on a hiding to nothing.
Would that be a mistake?
And what other mistakes might you make going into a negotiation?
In the actual negotiation, do you have any tactics?
You know, like one of the ones I think of is I feel like I blather and I go, here's all the, you know, I've collected my evidence and I've thought of my backup plan, but then I just blurt it all out like I'm trying to justify rather than say it.

Is there power in the pause?
That's interesting because you might also take the approach as, oh, she's just going high.
I'll come in low and I say, oh, it's worth 15, thinking that we'll meet somewhere in the middle.
Are there legitimate tactics about going high, going low?
See, this is the value.
How we get to that value is the bit we're negotiating, not the actual value.

No, we do not negotiate with terrorists.
