And this isn't to make Alice out that she was this spectacular being who, you know, went down this road that led to demise and journeyed her way back.
I'm not trying to make Alice out to be any better or any different than any other kid.
It's just...
You know, I'm trying to be honest about how she was and how that kind little girl became so hard and harsh with herself.
That's what happened.
She became hard and harsh physically.
with herself rather than becoming forthright with her voice holding her hand up saying no I don't accept this from you because she didn't have those tools she didn't have those skills
Oh, absolutely.
Even still, thankfully, thankfully, myself and Alice get along great.
I don't want this to come across like, you know, I'm second guessing now things that I'm saying because I don't want to paint a picture of this, you know, Enid Blyton that we all went off for picnics on a Sunday.
But we still have a really good relationship.
We had a really open relationship.
And our house only ever had two rules and that was no lies, no secrets.
So it meant that there was an open dialogue and there was always, always, we insisted on at least one meal being had at the table with everybody.
And so an awful lot would be unpacked at the table, you know, and sometimes you're stifling a laugh and sometimes you're stifling a cough.
But yeah, we had an open, free flowing conversation where the kids knew they were supported.
Even if they were in the wrong, we would say, you know what?
I need to know the truth.
