or being really courageous, deferring to authority.
So people often think of rule following as having some sort of moral weight to it.
Respecting property is another one.
I think that there is definitely some individual difference in how much they matter to different people.
But when you think about people broadly, there is a lot of weight that is given to respecting rules in a workplace, for instance, or respecting chains of command and kind of how things are supposed to go.
Right.
We also have moral domains like being equal and fair and treating others equally and fairly.
Well, that one makes sense.
Yes.
And also, you know, being loyal to community and sharing equal responsibility within a community.
I would say that based on the results of this study, there wasn't anything like that that really popped up.
But there were some where people seemed to maybe a little bit more hesitant to cast judgment.
And so for some moral domains like bravery, for instance, people are maybe a little bit more reserved about passing judgments onto someone who is or isn't brave.
And that could be for a variety of reasons.
Maybe it's something where they wouldn't be brave in a situation themselves.
And so they're like, you know what?
I'm not gonna touch that.
Or it could just be one of those things where it's like, I don't really have enough information or I don't think that this is really telling of someone's character.
So a core piece of our study is that we were asking people
we were presenting people with these fictional scenarios where they were reading about someone acting or not acting in accordance with these domains.
