Yeah, that's right.
It's always difficult in politics, isn't it?
You've got to be seen to be doing the right thing, but getting the economy stimulated and growing.
And I do feel for the current coalition government.
Last year we were just getting going and then we had the tariffs out of the US and that certainly bashed us around in terms of sentiment.
People just reflected and sat there for a while.
Now we just get going again this year.
This is going to be the big year of economic growth.
Get some of that debt down and then we get whacked with
The Gulf War and fuel prices and highly likely inflation is going to grow.
So it's very difficult times.
But right now we've got very positive news for the New Zealand economy.
Yeah, thank goodness.
It's taken us a while to get here.
But the India-New Zealand FTA is hugely exciting.
It's going to be signed in a couple of days' time.
And suddenly this FTA looks even better than what it has done because it's got political momentum.
Got stalled for a couple of months, political games, but that's fine.
That happens in politics.
