And so in addition to the sadness of loss for the people who lose somebody on those ships, that's wildly unsatisfying.
I mean, for a modern example, look at the amount of attention that was paid to MH370 when it went missing over the South China Sea.
Oh, the Malaysian air flight.
Exactly.
I mean, remember, there was so much heat generated over that.
And there was so much wild speculation, even from like mainstream media.
You had people on CNN talking about black holes and wormholes and monsters.
And it's because there is something just so wildly unsatisfying about something disappearing into the ocean.
And yet it's a tale as old as time.
Yeah.
And it happens like very frequently.
Look at how stubbornly the idea of the Bermuda Triangle remains in our imagination.
Like all of these things stick around.
But of course, there's all sorts of mundane reasons why a ship might go missing in the ocean.
You've got, I mean, weather, you've got navigation issues, you've got maybe an unseaworthy craft, you've got mutiny, like tons and tons of reasons.
Don't forget about the pirates, Nathan.

But when we don't have enough information, because again, they've just gone off to sea and over the horizon and disappeared.
