It was all through networking.
So a friend, she had done design work for a number of other startups.
And I originally approached her to ask her thoughts on the idea and see if she knew any design friends.
going through a similar situation, trying to outfit my new home in Seattle.
I want to be involved.
So I met with, she was actually the first person I met, but I had scheduled coffees with a number of people to get their thoughts on the idea.
And to your point, it's really important to have a co-founder and someone with you to begin with, because I don't think, I know I could not have done this on my own.
It was tough.
I mean, you know, obviously no one's ever happy to think it's about, you know, mutual respect for each other.
So, I mean, people would say, you know, it's not an even split.
But, you know, I think what we both want to make sure is we both feel that we invest in interest and we're both owners in the business.
Yep, so we launched in 2014.
We started part-time, just me and Lizzie and an outsource development team working nights and weekends.
That first year, we did 225K of gross sales.
So nothing that extraordinary, but we did that with only 80 people using the website.
So we're like, okay, listen, this could work.
We have a really high cart value.
People really like the website.
Yeah, so it's a little over $2,000.
And so that first year we did 225K of gross sales.
