And it's hard to lead people, harder to lead people, the deeper you get in that school because they are tired and they're hungry.
And before you go into the field,
They give you all of your meals, all of your MREs, your meals ready to eat, and you throw all of them in your rucksack.
And we would eat, you know, typically in the field once a day.
You know, we'd eat like two of our MREs when we reached the patrol base in the middle of the night, eat your food, bed down for a little bit, and then start the mission the next morning.
Well, what ended up happening was...
People weren't rationing out their food and they were eating more than they were supposed to.
So towards the end of the time in the field, they were out of food.
So we had people who were stealing MREs out of other people's rucksacks and it became this big issue.
Lack of integrity, character, true character was exposed.
They got hungry.
They ate the food they weren't supposed to.
They ran out of food.
So they stole other people's food.
It became a big issue the deeper we got into the school.
True character is exposed over time with how people handle success and failure, hungry and fed, strong and weak, rested and tired, tested and tempted.

A green light is someone who shows humility over pride and ego.
Like I talked about in a recent podcast, pride is your greatest enemy.
