It depends.
I like the padded sling for bigger, heavier guns.
And I like the unpadded ones for smaller, lighter guns.
The shorter or the unpadded sling, you can cinch up way shorter.
So it's really nice on a short gun.
But if you've got something that's a little bit heavier, it's nice to have that wider pad.
