Sean McGovern was on a mission to kill in Ireland as a senior lieutenant in the Kinnaghan Cartel when he organised to use tracker devices in the plan to murder Noel Duck Egg Kerwin.
Later, as he and his cell targeted James Magogately in similar fashion, they had no idea they were under surveillance and that their murder plot would lead to their downfall.
Yesterday, McGovern was confronted by a victim impact statement from the children of Kerwin, Donna and Christopher, who told him they would never get over their dad's death.
I'm talking with Eamon Dillon about the sensational evidence that gives us a window into the bloodlust of the Kinnahan cartel.
You're listening to Crime World, a podcast from crimeworld.com.
And he's wearing those very distinctive clothes that he left the house in earlier that morning.
The cycling gear, black and white striped, sort of a Lycra suit outfit.
So he's fairly distinguishable.
There's a message that evening Sean McGovern sends to Thomas Bomber Kavanagh, just got in.
Up there today didn't seem hard to watch except you have to keep moving.

The shutters, they're parked up outside and a car... They stop the shutters coming down.
So somebody walks out actually, because there's a gym down, somebody comes out of the car park and he sort of scuttles in as the shutters are about here.
And he goes down and he's looking at the car and they're telling him to take a picture of the reg and...
Yeah and they drive in the second time they put the car all three of them are in the car but Douglas Glynn again gets out I think and he gets the tracker on the car and they're able to drive out without anybody kind of
noticing them.
They have moved the car parking situation to the Clarion Hotel out at Liffey Valley.
So they kind of return there and swap cars again.
McGovern ultimately takes his bike and cycles home.
And later that evening, he has Gately's car under surveillance.
