It wasn't just adult women and teenage girls who could sense danger from Shaw and Evans.
A woman who was aged just nine years old when she saw Shaw and Evans in Galway on the day they were finally captured gave us this account.
My recollection goes back to 1976, on Sunday, September 26th, the day on which the killers were apprehended in Galway.
As a nine-year-old, I was walking to an 11am mass service in Firbo, County Galway, close to the offices of Udharos na Gaeltachta, or Galtara Éireann as it was known then.
On the particular morning, whilst walking west along the road, I recall observing two men standing at the head of the side road where Utheross is located and pointing left and right towards the seashore along the road.
I remember noticing how dirty they looked to my young eyes and that one was wearing denim jeans with a big stain on the right hand thigh.
I thought at the time they might have been painters and that the mark was spilled paint.
Later, on the RTE news, I saw the coverage of their capture and that they had been staying at a campsite in Barna, three miles east of my home.
It was then I recognised the two men I had seen.
My family and I have often suspected that they were planning their next dreadful deed and pointing to the seashore as a possible place to dispose of a body.
Thankfully, through the intervention of the Gardaí and others, these killers were prevented from abducting another young woman and the beautiful Furbo coastline did not become another site for their unspeakable crimes.
We've also received several other contacts from listeners who believe they had interactions with John Shaw and Jeffrey Evans.
However, with the passage of time nearly 50 years later, the details of the timelines don't quite match up.
Some further witnesses have gone directly to the Plunkett family solicitor, James McGill, and we believe there's likely further witnesses out there who have yet to come forward.
In the last 24 hours, on Garda Síochána have issued a response to us which indicates a promising step forward in the Plunkett family's fight for justice for Elizabeth.
Ungarda Síochána does not comment on statements made by the Director of Public Prosecutions.
So if you do know anything about the actions of John Shaw or Geoffrey Evans, please contact any Garda station in the Wexford Wicklow Garda Division or alternatively contact the Plunkett family solicitor, james.mcgill at mcgill.ie.

Your information could be instrumental in contributing to a cold case review by Gardaí into the rape and murder of Elizabeth Plunkett.
