It was interesting in the sense that so prior to that, when I'd been doing the articles, the news articles, I had received more defamation threats in that year than I have ever received before.

And it was incredibly intimidating because, you know, universities are multi-million dollar businesses.
It's an industry.
They have, they are very vested in protecting their reputations.
And so when you start exposing problems at a university and
they will hit back and they will hit back hard.
And as an example, you know, I'd done this story about James Cook University where a staff member called Douglas Steele had been accused of raping an unconscious Indigenous student.
Now he was charged with rape and when he was charged with rape, the university did not stand him down.
He was promoted as a white man and made academic advisor to Indigenous students.
