The first thing I do is I help her form healthy relationships without the technology. So she has plenty of opportunity throughout her day to be with other children without me watching and without coaches and teachers watching either. Time to just hang out. And you know what?

As much as she loves her phone at 16 years old, whenever she has the opportunity to play with a real human being in the real world, she forgets about her phone in a second. Right. For example, make time for traction. So planning out their day. One of the best things you can do if you want your kid to use their device less is plan time for them to use their device. Right? Because if you put time in your day to say, hey, now's the time when we're all gonna go on social media. Great, right? How much time is good for you? 30 minutes, an hour, 45 minutes.
